my dolphin report

ALL ABOUT DOLPHINS
by Hunter Rance and Jamin Waller (step dad)

Introduction:

Dolphins are not fish they are mammals  like us humans. Dolphins have lungs and have the same body temperature as me witch around 36 - 37 degrees Celsius. Dolphins don't have gills like fish they have to come to the surface of the ocean to breath air

description:

Dolphins have soft smooth skin like rubber. their tails move up and down not side to side like a fish

where do they live:
Dolphins live in the sea mostly in warm waters  they can live in rivers and cold waters like new Zealand too

what do they eat :
they eat small bait fish and they catch  the fish by working together to push the fish in to a bait ball they take turns to eat the fish

what eats me:
there are mine big fish in the ocean tat eat Dolphins such as sharks and killer whales

cool things about dolphins we didn't know:
  1. some dolphins can dive up to 2,000 feet on a single breath
  2. some dolphins can hold their breath for 30 minutes
  3. a male killer whale can grow as big as bus and is actually a dolphin
  4. dolphins love to play and very smart which is why dolphins and humans get along
  5. Dolphins are the only mammals in the ocean that there mothers feed their calf's milk

 life cycle:
  1. one calf is born at a time
  2. mother teaches calf to swim
  3. mother teaches calf to leap
  4. dolphin is fully grown
  5. dolphin leaves mother

videos:
here are some videos of dolphins that my step dad Jamin took at sea we love dolphins they are amazing

me and my step dad Jamin did this dolphin report together i typed the words and Jamin
helped me get the information and with spelling. I had heaps of fun making this over

  3. Hunter and Jamin an amazing report. I especially enjoyed the cool facts and video. Helpful hint for next time: start your sentences with a capital and end with a full stop. It was great to hear how proud you were of your work and how much fun you had doing the animal report. Have a look at this week's "I'm not a worm" I think you will enjoy it. Let me know if I can help : >
