Why is matariki a public holiday

What is matariki matariki is where we all get together and sit down and see the star clusters and remember the people that have passed.

Why do we celebrate matariki? We celebrate matariki so we remember the people we have lost.

How do we celebrate matariki, share food, sing songs, spend time with family, and remember ancestors?

Why is matariki inmotion to New Zealand aotearoa? To remember the people that have died a long time ago they gathered together to survive the winter.

Should matariki be a public holiday so we can spend more time with family and remember the people that have passed away.

Me and my family do fireworks to celebrate matariki and roast marshmallows.
